History

Founded in 2000, Entriq emerged as a division of MIH Limited (Naspers), the global provider of pay media platforms and services that launched South Africa’s first pay TV service in 1984. The company has been acknowledged for its digital media leadership and expertise in content management, workflow, syndication, media control, and monetization with the industry’s most flexible and complete solutions. Entriq increased its product offering by the 2008 acquisition of DayPort.

DayPort

On March 10, 2008, Entriq announced its acquisition of DayPort, a leader in video publishing, content, workflow, and syndication solutions. DayPort was previously backed by private investors in Mankato, MN, but needed a larger parent with global reach. The precise terms of the deal have not been disclosed, but it is rumored to be around US$45 million. Entriq has valued the deal between US$10 million - $50 million. Under the terms, DayPort CEO Cory Factor joined Entriq as Chief Technology Officer, along with other DayPort executives who took on senior level roles at the merged company.
