Emptoris is a provider of supply management and contract management software solutions. The company’s software suite combines contract management, sourcing, spend analysis, compliance, and supplier performance management.

In January 2008, the company reported approximately 20% growth in revenues in FY 2008, a rate twice the industry average, and transactions with 145 companies over the course of the year, the vast majority with Global 2000 companies. Also in January, the company annouced a "significant capital investment" from Marlin Equity Partners, through its group of funds, that the company said "will provide Emptoris with strong resources to support the company's growth strategies for both its operations and its award-winning solution suite."

According to an AMR Research report, "While other vendors are seeing sales halt or slow significantly, Emptoris has continued to increase its new client list and has a customer retention rate greater than 90%. In fact, Emptoris grew revenue an impressive 20% in 2008." In a separate report, AMR Research, states that the independent research firm expects "the supply management market to grow at 10% CAGR [through 2012]" and projects that "sustained double-digit growth will continue [fueled by] the call for immediate supply management value with simplified business processes, cost containment and reduction, and cash acceleration."

Emptoris is consistently recognized by independent research firms as providing the market's leading supply and contract management software solutions. Earlier in 2008, Emptoris was positioned in the "Leaders Quadrant" in the Gartner research report titled, "Magic Quadrant For Sourcing Application Suites, 2008" and the company also received overall "positive" rating in the Gartner research report "Vendor Rating: Emptoris," as well as the highest score for "Current Product Offering" in "The Forrester Wave: Contract Life-Cycle Management, 2008." Emptoris has a roster of mostly Global 2000 customers including Boeing, ConocoPhillips, GlaxoSmithKline, Kraft, and Motorola.

Emptoris is headquartered in Burlington, MA. Most of its engineering and support staff are in Pune, India. It has sales offices in Redwood City, CA; London, UK; Paris, France; Munich, Germany; and Victoria, Australia. The company was founded by Avner Schneur, President and Chief Executive Officer, in 1999.
