Emma S. Clark Memorial Library

Public access library located in Setauket (11733), Long Island. Its name comes from the niece of a millionaire confectioner, philanthropist, and Setauket resident Thomas Hodgkins. The library was constructed in 1892, completed October 3. Since then, the library has functioned as a public facility for checking out not only books, but has since expanded into videos, CDs, computer software and DVDs. It also offers access to computers with word processors and internet access. The library is certified by the State of New York and is non-profit. In 2000, the building completed a large expansion project, adding on a new children's section and increasing the adult section shelf area, as well as adding extra parking space.
