Emad Ayasreh

Emad A. Ayasreh (; born 1980) is a Jordanian academic and researcher in political science specializing in international relations. He has served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Politics and International Studies at Yarmouk University since September 2021 and holds administrative roles at the university, including as Assistant Dean of the Deanship of Student Affairs (effective September 2024). His research focuses on foreign policy, diplomacy, strategic studies, and security studies.
Education
Ayasreh earned his Ph.D. in Political Science from Universiti Sains Malaysia in 2016, focusing on energy security in Jordan’s foreign policy between 2003 and 2014. He also holds a in political science from the University of Jordan (2011) and a in political science from Yarmouk University (2006).
Academic career and contributions
Ayasreh began his academic career at the Royal Jordanian National Defense College (RJNDC), where he served as a faculty member and a member of the directing staff from April 2018 to September 2021. As Director of the International Relations Group, he contributed to integrating global political and strategic studies into the professional military education curriculum for senior military officers and diplomats. His responsibilities included leading strategic negotiation exercises, coordinating academic collaborations with international defense institutions, supervising , and managing research groups focused on international politics. He also teaches in the master's programs in Strategic Management and in Confronting Extremism and Terrorism.
During his tenure at RJNDC, Ayasreh designed and supervised several strategic diplomatic exercises, including:
* Strategic Negotiation Exercise - focused on diplomatic negotiations and international conflict resolution.
* Senior Management and Leadership Course - aimed at preparing first secretaries for advancement to counselor-level positions.
He also coordinated academic partnerships with institutions such as the U.S. National Defense University and the Near East South Asia Center for Strategic Studies.
In September 2021, Ayasreh joined Yarmouk University as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Politics and International Studies. Since joining, he has held multiple administrative roles, including:
