Egypt Information Portal

Egypt's Information Portal (EIP) , since its launch in June 2003 by the Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC), has been one of its knowledge INSTRUMENTS for disseminating and providing data and information that of concern to Egyptian citizens, and a mirror image of life in Egypt. The Portal has become a main source, which reflects developments in the country, as well as a channel for societal communication, interacting and identifying the society's needs and perception on important issues.

Egypt's Information Portal contains many sections that serve different visitors' needs as follows:

Studies and Informational Reports

The portal llows visitors access to studies' abstracts, reports, publications on international experiences, and opinion polls' results issued by the IDSC and other research centers. Such studies approach the most important economic and social issues, besides providing a catalogue for table of contents. EIP's subscribers are allowed to obtain full texts of the contents on the portal.

Periodicals

As IDSC issues periodicals, on annual, semi-annual, quarterly, monthly or weekly bases, EIP provides such issues as well as previous ones on date of publication.

Statistical Indicators

EIP provides visitors with indicators on the macro and sectoral levels at different intervals (daily, weekly, monthly, annually) in addition to the daily updating of Egypt's STOCK market and world stock markets' indices as well as daily exchange rate to follow up developmental performance measurement indicators and developments in economic and social sectors. IDSC is keen on constant data updating from main sources according to its periodical taking into account compatibility of data. Add to this, EIP provides time series and graphs for selected data and indicators.

Economic and Social Issues

EIP presents most important economic and social issues, including studies and reports issued by the IDSC, which are classified by topic. Users can also display other bodies' relevant sites, field research and data series in connection with each part.

Directories

EIP provides contact directories of agencies in Egypt including (telephones, emails, and websites...) of ministries, governorates, universities and major agencies in the country such as (Council of Ministers – People's Assembly) in addition to provision of search engines of databases and data directories.

Research Centers’ Studies

For best services for researchers and decision makers, EIP, through IDSC studies' databases, is concerned with providing publications of Egyptian research centers as well as their summaries and keeping places according to the filed of interest.

Media

For latest news and comments of print-media about IDSC, the EIP allows visitors to follow its news in addition to national events agenda of most important seminars, conferences, and workshops. ==Desktop mail client access==

Services

EIP updates visitors with weather forecast, exchange rate, world standard time, and enables them to access e-services on Egyptian Government Services Portal. Users are kindly invited to participate in opinion polls available on EIP.

Information Inquiries

EIP receives inquiries from private and government sectors in addition to academicians. In view of that the IDSC's Information Service Unit provides the necessary information, using IDSC's databases, which are updated periodically, thus the datum is provided in a timely manner.
