ECi Software Solutions is a business management and e-commerce software publisher, primarily serving small and medium sized businesses in the office products and furniture, construction supplies, hardware, sanitation, manufacturing, and distribution industries. ECi is a subsidiary of ECommerce Industries, Inc.
The company’s solutions, which are all independently owned, are delivered both as on-site applications and via cloud based and ‘software as a service’ applications. The software is designed to help businesses automate internal processes and manage sales, back office operations, inventory and warehouse operations, point of sale, and distribution/delivery. They also offer business improving solutions such as business intelligence services and managed print services.
ECi was founded in 1999, and is based in Fort Worth, Texas, with offices across the US, as well as in Australia, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands.
ECi holds a ‘Connect Conference’, a national meeting for its software users and strategic partners, the next which will be held September 24–26, 2013 in Dallas, Texas. The company also uses ‘customer advisory councils’ made up of users which provide feedback to help develop, test and adapt products.
Products
ECi products offer comprehensive, enterprise resource planning (ERP) business software that provide total integration and automation from quoting through invoicing. They are designed to streamline back office operations and include technology solutions for order entry, inventory management and accounting. They automate product distribution, the sale and service of uniquely identified equipment, and management of project-oriented sales that may require tracking multiple delivery and install dates as well as other related information.
DDMS is a comprehensive ERP targeted at office products, office furniture, and office equipment retailers. Britannia offers similar functionality. La Crosse and OMD focus on the office machines industry, as well as e-automate, which is owned by Digital Gateway, Inc., and TeamDesign on the contract furniture business. FMAudit provides remote meter readings and solutions for the managed print services industry.
Advantage is designed for lumber, building materials, hardlines, farm supply businesses and more, while RockSolid POS is designed for lumber and hardware businesses.
Acsellerate is an industry-leading technology service providing on-demand sales and business intelligence solutions.
ECi M1, which provides ERP solutions for manufacturers, was acquired from Bowen and Groves by ECi in 2009.
In April 2012, ECi announced that it acquired Derbyshire, England based BlueSky Systems Solutions, Ltd., a back office systems supplier for the European office products industry. BlueSky joins the list of other solutions for the European market that includes EasyOrder, NGV, Horizon, Horizon Web, and Atomic.
