Ebrahim Bagheri

Ebrahim Bagheri () is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Ryerson University, a Canada Research Chair in Software and Semantic Computing and an NSERC Industrial Research Chair in Social Media Analytics. He is also a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
Education
Bagheri received his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Software Engineering from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad and his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the University of New Brunswick.
Research projects
Prior to his academic appointment, Bagheri was a member of research staff in the Internet Logic group at where he worked on Radiation Exposure Monitoring in collaboration with Agfa-Gevaert, McMaster University and Hamilton Health Sciences. He was then an Assistant Professor at Athabasca University and a Visiting Assistant Professor at University of British Columbia.
Bagheri has been involved in numerous research projects in the areas of Reuse Engineering, Product Line Engineering, Semantics-enabled Software and Requirements Engineering Technologies, Software Quality Engineering, and Social Media Analytics, often as a supervisor for Ph.D. students or postdoctoral researchers. These projects include: Knowledge-Driven Information Extraction from the Web; Social Human-Centric Tools for Software Development; Intelligent Product Lifecycle Management. On Feb 11, 2017, he presented his Tedx talk on health research and its relation to social networks.
