Easykard
EasyKard plc was founded in 2005 at the time when prepaid cards where first allowed onto the UK networks by MasterCard. Originally named Lateral Approaches Ltd, prepaid cards were just one product offered by the company. With the uptake of prepaid cards and technologies in the UK, prepaid cards became the sole focus and the company changed its name in 2006 to EasyKard plc, a privately owned public limited company. EasyKard additionally now also concentrate on the creation of branded credit cards, e-wallets and multi-level-marketing technologies. EasyKard headquarters are based in Manchester, UK and also has offices in Lincolnshire and Los Angeles.
EasyKard is service provider of branded stored value, payment and credit cards for Visa®, MasterCard® and non-network cards for other organisations. EasyKard also operate their own retail card range. Their latest prepaid card range launched in 2006 which included the highest limit card in the UK of £15,000 along side 4 new and funky card designs.
EasyKard works along side other organisations in the creation and management of branded cards. EasyKard ultimately continues to drive the UK and global prepaid card market forward, creating new technologies and advancements.
In 2007 EasyKard also worked with the National AIDS Trust to design and create the first Maggie™. The Maggie is ribbon shaped car magnet that attaches to the back of your vehicle to clearly shows your support for the charity. EasyKard’s Maggie claimed huge support. Celebrities such as Coronation Street’s Anthony Cotton, Kym Ryder and Jennie McAlpine were featured in press releases with Maggies outside the Rovers Return.
Further celebrities such as Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney, Ji-Sung Park & Ole Gunnar Solskjær and also Chesney Hawkes & Darren Day signed Maggies so they could be auctioned to raise funds for the charity. EasyKard’s further charity efforts include launching Maggies for 100 charities in 2008.
