Easy Cure (Tribute Band)

Easy Cure are an Italian tribute band from Florence, dedicated to The Cure. It was formed in 1996. “Easy Cure” was used by Smith & Co. during concerts that preceded the official “The Cure” (Smith wanted the article before the name of the band, but “The Easy Cure” was too lengthy).

History

Two imaginary boys (Francesco and Luca), sharing a great passion for The Cure, have joined in Florence in half ‘90s, forming the Easy Cure band. After first apparitions in 1996 (as Oblivion), they had a fast and unexpected rise to success in most of national famous locations. Spotlighting on the best music from The Cure, Easy Cure shows follow a style that results unique in his genre. Due to his longevity, the band was declared the official tribute by the national Fan Club. In many years, the live experience has approached in Europe, up to know Robert Smith and The Cure themselves. Then, Easy Cure have received an invitation for the MTV Icon show in London, in 2004. The show goes on with a mini tour in Turkey and other important European fan gatherings, including England and Holland. The hard work to find and reach a sound perfectly similar to the original as possible, along with an attention to the general look, like the original group still today, contributes to bring the definitive atmosphere of a real Cure concert. The wide repertory, adaptable to many kind of audience, stars from the first post-punk albums, through the new wave and dark era, up to the pop soul of the last works. Among the many concerts are mentioned in particular "Easy Cure in Orange" which is revived the entire setlist of the famous concert performed by The Cure in 1986 at the Théâtre antique d'Orange, the “Disintegration night” where the band played all Disintegration album and the “Trilogy concert” at Rolling Stone in Milan, where the band played entirely 3 albums (Seventeen Seconds, Faith and [...]) considered the classic Cure dark albums.
