The club was formed in early 2010 by 3 pals who's aim was to help establish Rugby League in East Lancashire. The club received a good hearing from the Officials of Colne & Nelson RUFC and were invited to use their club as a base. The Rugby Union club seeing it as a great way to have more use of their facilities, to keep the players fit in summer ad to increase their skill base. Preliminary training commenced in early February 2010 with a view to things being officially launched in mid March. Widnes Vikings kindly donated a kit to get the club off to a flying start.

After a great win 68 - 4 in the Semi the lads move on the finale of the season the Grand Final against Ashton the NW Counties Premier Division club.

East Lancashire Vikings have successfully secured a place at the highest level of the regional Summer Conference for 2011 with a place in the Premier Division. This level will see the team play in pre arranged league fixtures and hopefully provide some continuity.
