Earn (company)

Earn is an American online marketing company. Established in Los Angeles, California, in 2020, the company operates a consumer rewards and micro-earning platform through a mobile application and website.

Overview

Earn was founded on May 18, 2020, under the name Earn and Trade by Dylan Bertalli, Josh Paktan, and Josiah Peedikayil while they were undergraduate students at California State University, Fullerton. The company began during the COVID-19 pandemic and was supported in its early stages by the Small Business Development Center (SBDC), which provided mentorship and business consulting.

In 2021, Noah Tolentino Nguyen joined the team to develop a Google Chrome extension. He later led mobile app development in 2023. Maxwell Boscardin joined later to lead the design of the mobile and web platforms.

In early 2024, the Earn mobile application was launched on the iOS App Store. In 2025, the company rebranded from Earn and Trade to Earn, expanding its focus to a general micro-earning platform.

Earn operates a micro-earning platform that rewards users for completing small online tasks. These tasks include shopping through affiliate links, trying free trials, installing apps, and participating in brand offers. Points earned through these tasks can be converted into cash or gift cards.

The company’s revenue model is primarily based on affiliate marketing and brand partnerships. Brands compensate Earn for user engagement, and the company shares part of that revenue with its users. Unlike traditional gig platforms, Earn does not require users to commit physical labor or fixed schedules. Tasks can be completed online at the user’s convenience.

This model targets users seeking supplemental income, primarily students, part-time workers, and those not looking for traditional employment. Earn positions itself at the intersection of fintech, performance marketing, and the gig economy.
