Early Material (also known as 'Twelfth Night' and 'The electra Tape') is a studio album released by UK neo-progressive band Twelfth Night in 1980.

Details

This tape was recorded at Amy's Shack, Bournemouth in Summer 1980, during the short-lived Twelfth Night line-up that included female singer Electra McLeod. Electra wrote lyrics to a number of band instrumentals: Cunning Man, Abacus and Keep The Aspidistra Flying were recorded along with the instrumental Afghan Red.

During the recording sessions, a short version of Für Helene Part I (the rhythm section) was also recorded, which was used as the B-side to The Cunning Man on The First 7" Album.

All songs from this tape are available on CD: Electra's contributions are on Voices In The Night and Afghan Red is on the reissue of Live At The Target
