Dusayan
Dusayan is a bikol term/word for an act of offering, giving, thanksgiving, sharing. Dusayan also means a collective effort of caring for a humble cause with the main objective of cooperation, collaboration. One Village in the Philippines is dedicated through this deeply endowed word: "Dusayan Village" housing project in the parish of St. Bernardine of Siena, Cabusao, Camarines Sur... This was initiated by the pastor Rev. Fr. Apolinar Rull Napoles Jr. with the assistance of NASSA, National Secretariat for Social Action, through the help of the Prelature of Libmanan Development Foundation Incorporated, with the assistance of the local social director, Rev. Fr. Granwell N. Pitapit. Dusayan Village was blessed and opened to the public on July 25, 2007 with 15 priests, 1 bishop, 1 representative from international catholic relief services (CRS), and the NASSA representative.
Dusayan Village Housing Project There are 170 families who are now beneficiaries of the housing project of the parish. The BLESSING & TURN-OVER of the units was held after the Eucharistic Celebration during the Feast of St. James the Apostle (July 25, 2007) preside by the parish priests Rev. Fr. Apolinar Rull Napoles Jr. and concelebrated by the Social Action Director of the Prelature Rev. Fr. Granwell N. Pitapit, and by the former SAC Director Rev. Fr. Michael Dela Rosa who is now the Vicar General for Pastoral Program.
Partners in this project are the following: PLDFI (Prelature of Libmanan Development Foundation Incorporated), NASSA (National Secretariat for Social Action) CARITAS INTERNATIONAL & CRS (Catholic Relief Services), LGU-CABUSAO. As to Land and Lot Status, the allocated for this village is 7.9 unused hectares of which 3.5 hectares (owned by Basbas Family) is bought by the Social Action Commission of the Prelature of Libmanan (PLDFI), 4.4 hectares (owned by Rillo Family) is to be paid by the LGU-Cabusao through the pledged help of the elected Camarines Sur 1st District Congressman Dato Arroyo. Construction of 88 duplex alone is already amounting to PhP 31,680,000.00 (31.68million). One unit floor area is five meter by six meter square. The Village is located at the Northwestern part of barangay Castillo.
The construction is contracted by EASTCON Builders led by Engr. Noel Silvestre, based in Manila and direct contact of NASSA. To date, there is no electric power supply yet in the village. CASURECO 1 initially installed steel poles. No concrete road yet. No drainage system yet. Water system is yet to be installed. As of October 19 2007, the village has two available source of non-potable water through the jetmatic pump system donated by the Ateneo de Naga University (ADNU) Naga City. By November 8 2007, the two water system will be visited by the German Jesuits Fathers and will be blessing the said gift.
