Dropped B tuning
Dropped B is an alternate tuning for a guitar where the strings are tuned to BF♯BEG♯C♯. This tuning has been used by such metal bands as Slipknot, Machine Head, and Bring me the Horizon. Dropped B tuning, like any other dropped tuning, consists of tuning the top string down one full step from the standard tuning. For dropped d, for instance, the top string would be tuned down from standard E to D, which allows a guitarist to play one finger power chords. It is easiest for a relatively new guitarist who is inexperienced with tuning a guitar to start by tuning from standard down to dropped d and then tuning all strings down according to which dropped tuning he/she is trying to achieve. From dropped D, all strings would need to be dropped down a full step and a half, or three frets to achieve dropped B tuning.
