Draco, or Draco GNU/Linux, is a semi source based operating system inspired by Slackware and NetBSD intended to be lightweight and simple. Draco uses pkgsrc as the default package manager. The system is separated from the third-party packages, making Draco a clean distribution. It is developed by Norwegian Ole Andre Rodlie.

History and development process

In 2006 hotstian (Stian Andreassen), a member at a Norwegian forum, posted that he was looking for someone to make an improved Slackware distribution with. Ole Andre Rodlie joined and they made eSlack. They rewrote the package manager and added other packages Slackware did not have at that time. At the end of the year the project was ended, as it was too big for two persons.

After half a year Ole Andre Rodlie continued the development under the name Draco Linux, this time as a one-man-project and with a new package manager.
