Dr. Chapatín

Dr. Chapatín is a fictitious medical doctor, created and performed by Chespirito. Mainly, Dr. Chapatin appears in his office, with his secretary, also his nurse, who was performed by Florinda Meza. He loves the money, to the point he said once to a patient: “How do you do. 200 pesos please”. And he is always trying to operate on patients, even if they don’t need it. He hits every single person who dares to say something that makes him “old”. Always he has a paper bag, which no one knows what is inside it; he answers “queles” every time they ask him. He has a peculiar sense of humor, which sometimes could be understood as an innocent obsession for gaining money. His office appears to be a typical old doctor's office in Mexico, which has a human skeleton, a phonograph, an old desk and an old telephone.

Dr. Chapatin has been seen in hospitals and scrub-ups, one time eating while helping to perform an operation. He has an old car which is almost totally broken down, and despite this, he still wants to use it. Dr. Chapatín is a well-known character among all the ones Chespirito has made. Originally, this character appeared in “Los supergenios de la mesa cuadrada” (The super geniuses of the square table), a parody program, and he was known as “Doctor Chespirito Chapatín”. He also appeared in one of the most hilarious episodes of El Chavo del 8, in which Sr. Barriga fell down and broke his feet, confined to a wheelchair, but before, Dr. Chapatín took him to his hospital and made Mr. Barriga pay for 50 X-rays. He also appears towards the end of the El Chavo msuic video "Joven Aun".
