Donnabella Mortel
Donnabella Mortel is an American actress, writer, and producer, of Filipino descent. She is best known for her roles On the Television shows and films, The Young and the Restless (2017), How to Get Away with [...] (2015), Jane The Virgin (2015), Retail (2014), Born Bad (2011), Ulterior Motives: Reality Tv Massacre (2016), and NCIS (2015).
Career
2008-2013: Early Work
Mortel made her entertainment debut in 2008 starring in the feature film Hoodrats 2: Hoodrat Warriors playing ambitious young woman fighting her way through the streets of Los Angeles on her journey to success. The filmed co-starred Arden Cho.
In 2011 Mortel went on to appear on Fox's House and starring in the Lifetime film Born Bad, alongside Michael Welch, Bonnie Dennison, Meredith Monroe, and David Chokachi. A reviewer from Dread Central described Mortel's character as "disturbingly realistic.
In 2012 Mortel made her first major film debut appearing in the film Savages, which was directed by Oliver Stone.
In 2013 Mortel was cast as a recurring cast member on the series, The Cost of Living, which was created, written, and directed by Kevin L Walker. She also wrote and directed the short film, Playing Pretend, where she starred opposite Kevin L. Walker.
2014-Present: Success in television and film
In 2014 Mortel began to see more success in television and film. Mortel appeared in the film [...] 101, opposite Tom Sizemore playing a young and capable detective, and then soon after she appeared on the television show Love That Girl! opposite Phil Morris.
Later in 2014 Mortel was cast in the short film Speed Dating, opposite Keir O'Donnell for the top 10 directors contest on HBO's Project Greenlight. Mortel ended 2014 by creating, writing, and starring in the series, Retail. The series co-starred Kevin L. Walker, Noel Gugliemi, and Derrick Redford. Watchersave the series a 7.0/10 on IMDb, and achieved significant viral success.
In 2015 Mortel went on to appear on various television shows opposite numerous notable actors and actresses. She appeared on the television show, Grandfathered, opposite John Stamos and Josh Peck. She appeared on Jane the Virgin, opposite actresses Andrea Navedo and Jenna Ortega. She appeared on Ray Donovan, opposite Liev Schreiber and Eddie Marsan, and she was cast in a recurring role on appeared on NCIS.
Mortel ended 2015 by guest starring as "Alicia," on an of How to Get Away with [...] opposite Aja Naomi King, Jack Falahee, and Sherri Saum, with whom she had a talked AbOUT kissing scene. Mortel played a young business woman that finds herself intertwined in a complex [...] scheme with Sherri Saum. The episode was directed by John Terlesky.
In 2016 Mortel cast to star in the film Freshwater as "Jamie Castell," alongside Joe Lando and Zoe Bell. She played a young, fit, and ambitious cheerleader trying to escape the clutches of a monster size reptile. She continued on to appear on the television shows Mary + Jane, Uncle Buck, Mistresses, Westworld, she starred in the film Let Me In, opposite Kevin L Walker, and she also starred in the film, Ulterior Motives: Reality Tv Massacre, as "Paris," opposite Jaclyn Betham, Chris Hayes, and Vincent Ward. Mortel played a reality Tv star that gathers at a Hollywood Hills mansion with a group of friends and winds up having to fight for her life to stay alive.
So far in 2017 Mortel has appeared on the Netflix series, I'm Sorry, TruTv's Atypical, and the hit daytime soap opera, The Young and the Restless, as "Kylie Weston," where she played a young hot shot Hollywood director.
Mortel can also be seen in commercials for brands such as, Coke Zero, Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile with Rob Corrdry, McDonalds with Deion Sanders, Ford with Kevin L Walker, and Pizza Hut with Kristen Wiig.

Narration
Mortel narrated the This Shattered World: A Starbound Novel, the second of a trilogy created and written by New York Times best selling author Amie Kaufman,alongside Callard Harris, and Lincoln Hoppe. Mortel also narrated parts of Amie Kaufman's Illuminae, and some of Wild Cards IV: Aces Abroad audio book, by George R. R. Martin.
