Doctations
Doctations is a vendor of Electronic Medical Record (EMR), Practice Management, and Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) solutions that employ a software as a service (SaaS) business model to deliver their solutions over the internet.
History
Doctations is an independent software developer with headquarters in Garden City, New York. The company was founded in 2005 by President and CEO Louis G. Cornacchia, III, M.D., F.A.C.S.. The company began offering its services commercially in January 2009. Doctations is one of the first companies to employ a SaaS business model to the Electronic Medical Record domain. This is considered the future of healthcare.
Doctations does more than simply run medical practices efficiently, it is a World Wide Web platform for doctors and patients to join together in a grassroots movement to build a better healthcare system. As more and more people become familiar with Doctations, media outlets like CNBC and Healthcare Financial News are starting to take notice.
Products
Doctations offers a CCHIT certified EMR system. The Doctations On-Demand solution is broken up into 3 categories: Electronic Medical Records, Practice Management, and Rapid Sequence Billing.
The solutions provided by Doctations have increasingly been in the news. President Barack Obama has been calling for greater investment in Health Information Technology Systems. He and his cabinet understand that paper medical records make it very difficult and costly to coordinate care, measure quality and reduce the cost of care. The president's healthcare reform plan calls for an investment of $10 billion a year over the next five years to move the U.S. healthcare system towards greater adoption of electronic medical records, which is one of the core solutions provided by Doctations.
