Dinnerbone

Nathan Adams (born 23 July 1991), better known by his in-game nickname Dinnerbone, is a video game programmer and designer, originally from the United Kingdom. As of 28 February 2012, Adams works as a video game programmer and designer, and content creator for Mojang. Originally hired to aid development of a server and client API for the popular Indie sandbox game Minecraft, he now also adds other content and takes feedback from the community. Mojang contacted him, Warren Loo, Erik Broes and Nathan Gilbert - who were hired on the same date - due to them being the key developers of a popular Minecraft plugin service, Bukkit.

Biography

In his early years, Adams lived in Shrewsbury, United Kingdom. A few months after being hired by Mojang AB, he decided to move to Stockholm, Sweden to be closer to friends and work.

Adams started programming at the age of 10, coding bots for the instant messaging service MSN.

He has gone to secondary school, but was rejected for college due to an issue with their records. He has not taken any programming course, instead learning by experimentation.

He worked for a small company in web development software, but was made redundant after some years. By this time he had already started up Bukkit, custom Minecraft server software which allows users to easily add plug-ins. He was hired by Curse Inc. to continue work on Bukkit. Half a year later, he was hired by Mojang AB to work on their own Plugin API for Minecraft, allowing Bukkit-like modification of the game in both single and multi player modes. The Plugin API is not yet released, Adams having stated that he wants to avoid rushing its creation.
