Dinesh Venugopal
Dinesh Venugopal (born 10 October 1968) is an Indian-American executive. He is currently the President (Mphasis Digital and Direct-core business) and member of the Executive Council at Mphasis.
Early Life
Venugopal was born in Kannur, Kerala. He studied at the College of Engineering, Trivandrum and received a Bachelor’s degree in Technology (B.Tech) and finished his M.S in Computer Science from the University of Louisiana.
Career
In 1998, Venugopal was the Director of Engineering and in 2004 took over as the Head of Product Development at Marimba Inc. which later became BMC Software. Dinesh joined Mphasis in 2008, and in his previous role as the Global Head of Mphasis’ Specialized Market Unit, he led the development of niche solutions in the areas of Mobility, Analytics and BPO/KPO. He also established and headed Mphasis’ Corporate Development Office that included Mergers & Acquisitions, Marketing and Innovation incubation in the areas of Payment Solutions and Product Engineering Services.
Venugopal in 2015 had a banner year leading Mphasis into a new period of growth. He launched Mphasis’ digital practice that helps its customers make the shift from analog to digital by leveraging domain, technology and data to solve on the ground business challenges.
Currently, Dinesh Venugopal heads the Direct Core portfolio at Mphasis, which includes Strategic customers across Financial Services and Mphasis Digital. He also serves as a Board of Director for NextAngles, a start-up launched within Mphasis.
In 2016, Venugopal received Stevie award in the IT Executive of the Year category at the 13th Annual International Business Awards.
