Dichev's rings

The content of this article refer to discovering a magnetic-circle effect in magnetism. Under the name of "Forming of Dichev's Rings" the discovery is registered in the Patent Service of Bulgaria - Discovery № 16. Acknowledged by the Bulgarian Science Academy.

The experiment

It is well known that using iron dust, spread on a sheet of cardboard, placed below the pole of a permanent magnet, the magnetic intensity lines of a permanent magnetic field can be illustrated. The iron dust builds the classical star pattern, as in Fig. 1. If, however an iron dust floats on a water surface in a vessel placed over magnetic pole, the dust forms circular structures, as in Fig. 2,3.
