Dharmendra Kakarala

Dharmendra Kakarala (born 1981) is an Indian film editor, who works in Telugu cinema, where starting with Prasthanam (2010), he edited films like LBW (2011), Dhada (2011). and Routine Love Story (2012). he is most famous for editing the film Prasthanam (2010).The film was selected for screening in The INDIAN Panorama section at International Film Festival of India, Goa. Also renowned for his films , LBW (2011), Routine Love Story (2012), D for Dopidi (2013), Mallela Theeram Lo Sirimalle Puvvu (2013), Chandamama Kathalu (2014). The film bagged the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Telugu for the year 2014.

Early life and education

Born to Kakarala Ramesh Kumar & K vasanta, his family great grand father K Balakrishna Rao a barrister and land lord, Grand Father Dr K Dharma Rao is a very famous Physician in Eluru Grand mother K Lalitha Devi a women activist and NGO a very Renowned family in Eluru Andhra Pradesh, he obtained a degree in BA, but left the field to pursue film.

Career

After few attempts for civils, He decided to study film making at Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, Kolkata. A 2004 pass out from the film institute he worked as associate editor for films Oka V Chitram (2005), Rakhee (2006), Lakshmi Kalyanam (2006), Mysamma (2006), Adi Vishnu (2008), Mestry (2009), Bangaaru Babu (2009), Chandamama (2009). before becoming a editor for Prasthanam (2010) which is written and directed by Deva Katta. After which he owned name with his works.
