Deesha

Baldesh Kaur Sarai, who goes by the stage name Deesha, is an Indian-Canadian R&B singer.

Her self-promoted breakout single, "Falling In Love", broke into the top 30 of the Canadian Contemporary Hits radio music charts in 2003. She achieved even greater success with her collaboration with Canadian hip-hop sensation Arabesque. In the video for the single, "Stardust", she appeared in a hot tub, apparently [...]. In reality, she was wearing a tube top and shorts; the "hot tub" was actually an oversized, dirty planter; and since the shoot was done in the middle of a frigid Canuck winter, she was in constant danger of coming down with hypothermia.

Her solo debut album, Life Less Ordinary, was released in 2006 on RaukStar Records (her own label). She wrote all the songs on the album and was also the executive producer.

Deesha has also been involved with numerous multi-cultural initiatives, such as performing at Toronto's Yonge & Dundas Square as a headliner of the 'desiFest' May 2007 South Asian Canadian music festival founded by youth entrepreneur Sathish Bala.
