Dead Country
Dead Country is a 2008 horror film directed by Martha Terhorst and her son Andrew Merkelbach. A homage to the classic zombie movies, the downunder frightfest is based on an original screenplay by newcomers KG Redhead and Anthony Davis, and features an ensemble cast of B-movie favourites including Alex Vincent, Ted V. Mikels, Lisa Wilcox, Lloyd Kaufman, Christopher Showerman, Jacqueline Lovell and Janet Tracy Keijser. The film also marks the feature film debut of popular Australian singer Mandy Kane.
Plot summary
When a space ship containing hazardous material explodes over a small rural town, a deadly virus is unleashed upon the population, turning them in to zombies. Only the alien being responsible for the terrible accident and a small group of survivors can stop the epidemic from spreading, but first they have to survive the experience.
