DE SIGNER

DE SIGNER is an American MusicAL group. In the spirit of New York's underground scene of the late 70's, DE SIGNER is downtown 2012. A group of very different people linked together by the world of design. Stepping into the set with a body rocking BLEND of French disco groove and vintage Hip-hop. Mic checks from Audrey (France) and English (Chicago/Dem Dare) set the pace with a modern "Wild Style" of disco-ing that makes them the freshest (and only) black guy / French girl duo around. JMV (France), a former Virgin Records artist, is a child of the Euro music scene of the late 70's and early 80's producing tracks that travel from Beat Street to Factory Records. Combined with visual brainwashing by Stussy designer A.Franco (L.A.) they bring the "new knack that's coming from way way back."

Since the release of the first album LINES + CURVES DE SIGNER has been collaborating on shows with the Disney concert hall/CalArts REDCAT Theater, the USC/UCLA Modern Architecture Professor Judith Mussel as well as several local galleries and boutiques. Labeled as "the next generation of electronic music" DE SIGNER has also been featured on the Stussy / Turntable Lab "Beats" compilation, which included DJ/Serato bags designed by Ant and an exclusive audio composition. With the release of the DESIGNERSRULETHEWORLD LP on their own Label called Le Branché the band is rocking sets in the South of France and Downtown Los Angeles, DJ-ing at spots like In Love, La Terrassa, the Room, the Contientale, Hollys, the Factory Loft, the Mountain Bar and Comme des Garçons Guerilla store +213. DE SIGNER works with a group of massively talented creative contributors to collaborate on projects depending upon the medium- from international Art Directors and Visual Effects masters Gabriel Abraham and Hitoshi Inoue, U.K./L.A. lighting and projection specialist Paul Sangster to lifestyle and fashion gurus Eddie Cruz and Chris Gibbs of UNDFTD/Union, TAK of Comme Des Garçons and Reggieknow of This Day.

The second release "DESIGNERSRULETHEWORLD" from French/U.S. audio and visual band De signer is a tribute to the original flavors of the underground downtown scene of New York circa 1979. Bringing their international flare of Disco/ Rap/Electro to the dance music genre they create something that is refreshingly difficult to categorize. Coming after the well received leak of the track “Eyes Lies” in 2008 they continue to set a pace for pushing the boundaries of electronic music as they combine the neu electro spirit with vintage hip-hop and Chicago/ Detroit techno vibes. Their first official single "1-2-3 LOVE" and the "DESIGNERSRULETHEWORLD" album is very diverse yet speaks to one spirit. Going from Factory Records to Wild Style to Trax Records in minutes. From dirty disco to acid house it will send the listener on a voyage into the De signer world. Believing that there is no separation between visuals and music De signer works simultaneously on visual representation of their songs which brings a futuristic and stimulating dimension to their live performances. They are in the process of planning international tour dates for 2009. De signer is currently working with Apple Inc. on creating the first “Apple Store Tour” which is ironically perfect for a band called De signer.

Lines+Curves

In 2006, De signer release "Lines+Curves" their very first album celebrating the creation of their label Le Branché, this first installment of DE audio series is a rough avant garde collection of street attitude, high fashion imagery, and modern/design and architecture. Couture and garbage mixed. After the release exclusively on the le Branché website and several performances with their live set called "The Last Collage", the group decided to go back in their studio to prepare the second opus "DESIGNERSRULETHEWORLD".
