David Ruttenberg
David Ruttenberg (born November 14, 1963 in Miami Beach, Florida) is an American Record Producer/Engineer/Composer. He is a member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (the GRAMMYs) and its prestigious Producers and Engineers Wing. He is a member and publisher of Broadcast Music Incorporated, the American Federation of Musicians and the Recording Industry Association of America.
Education
Ruttenberg received his degrees in music engineering, electrical engineering and marketing from the University of Miami Frost School of Music in Coral Gables, Florida. While at Miami, he served as the founding Chairman of the University's Audio Engineering Society section.
Early Employment
In 1985, Ruttenberg was employed at Neotek Corporation as its Vice President of Sales and subsequently as Marketing Manager at Otari Corporation where he worked with entertainers including Peter Gabriel, Stevie Wonder, Janet Jackson, Lindsey Buckingham. In 1988, he was recruited as marketing manager for both Sound & Video Contractor and Recording-Engineering-Producer Magazines.
As An Entreprenuer
In 1992, Ruttenberg co-founded GATE International, Inc., the third largest Internet Consultancy in the Southeastern United States providing traditional advertising and digital marketing services to the Fortune 100 including 3M, Goodyear Tire and Rubber, DirecTV and Blockbuster Video.
As An Author, Speaker and Lecturer
He has authored numerous professional audio equipment reviews for Mix (magazine) and provided a regular Compact Disc Review column for the now defunct Recording-Engineer-Producer (RE/P) Magazine from Intertec Publishing. He is a public speaker for myriad organization and also lectures at private colleges and universities.
As A Record Producer, Audio Engineer and Composer
Since 2003, Ruttenberg returned to the music industry full-time and founded both PMR Studio and Polar Boehme Music, Inc.. He currently serves as producer, engineer, composer, arranger and performer on various albums from artists that include Russ Freeman, Jeff Berlin, and Eric Marienthal. He has recorded multiple CDs on the Polar Boehme, Peak and MAJ labels.
