David Metzner
David Allan Metzner is the founder And Co-owner of American Continental Group (ACG), a government policy consulting firm in Washington, D.C.
Education
Metzner earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Boston University and a Masters of Art in Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. He has a Juris Doctor from the George Washington University Law School. He is a member of the District of Columbia Bar Association.
Career
Metzner co-founded ACG in 1994 and has been With It since as its managing partner. He advises corporate and non-profit organizations on public policy, matters between U.S. states and the federal government in Washington, DC.
Since 2007, he has headed ACG Analytics, the company’s financial industry consulting branch. Metzner is a partner at InterActive Global Solutions (IGS). Prior to ACG, he was Director of Legislative Affairs for The Singer Company.
Between 2003 and 2009, Metzner was appointed by President George W. Bush to serve as Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. During his tenure, the Center developed a focus on China, Latin America, and globalization. The Center also established the Kissinger Institute on China and the United States. Congressman Lee H. Hamilton, then-Chairman of Wilson Center called it the "Center’s most important initiative in thirty years".
Memberships
Metzner is a member of the US-China Business Council and the Economic Club of Washington. He is a member of the Meridian International Center and served on its board of trustees. Metzner is also a board member of the Washington Hebrew Congregation (WHC).
Personal life
Metzner is married to Viktoria and has four daughters. They live in Washington, DC. Metzner and his family have been members of the Washington Hebrew Congregation (WHC).
