Dayanand Anglo-Vedic Sushil Kedia Vishwa Bharati Higher Secondary School is a school in Jawlakhel, Lalitpur, Nepal. The school was founded in July 9, 1992 in Lalitpur. It is one of a number of schools run by the Dayanand Anglo-Vedic College Trust and Management Society, and follows the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and Higher Secondary Education Board (HSEB) pattern of education. The school caters for children from nursery through to Standard Twelve.

Education

Like Alice, Many educators, policy makers and even the general public respond resoundingly with "That's impossible!" when challenged to adopt a new paradigm of education for the 21st century. Most people today adhere to a paradigm of education that is strictly 19th century. But, like the Queen, a growing number of educators are believing in and accomplishing "the impossible". Scott McLeod, in his blog, Dangerously Irrelevant, recently reminded us of a line from Mission Impossible, and we must apply that challenge to all of society. "Your assignment, should you choose to accept it" is to take education truly into the 21st century. It is not enough to say that we are already living there. Technically it is the 21st century, but our schools are not there, and our challenge now is to reinvent schools from the 21st century- for the sake of our children, our students and the welfare of our world. Making such a paradigm shift is not easy. After all, when any of us thinks of education, we usually think of what we knew as school- the way it has always been. That is how parents, policy makers, politicians and many students think of school. But we have to make the paradigm shift to 21st century education. So what is 21st century education? It is bold. It breaks the mold. It is flexible, creative, challenging, and complex. It addresses a rapidly changing world filled with fantastic new problems as well as exciting new possibilities. Fortunately, there is a growing body of research supporting an increasing number of 21st century schools. So as the schools of 21st century we must focus on - Critical Thinking and Problem Solving - Collaboration across Networks and Leading by Influence - Agility and Adaptability - Initiative and Entrepreneurialism - Effective Oral and Written Communication - Accessing and Analyzing Information - Curiosity and Imagination

Here at DAV, we are striving to make the School a perfect example of real- life relevant, project- based 21st century School. We are working on outcome based model with active student learners. Our learners work on the concept of collaboration but not competition. They are more Research driven than textbook driven. Our classrooms are expanded to include the greater community, where students are self- directed and week both independently and interdependently. The curriculum and instruction and designed to challenge all and provides for differentiation. Here after talking about the schools I must also say this cannot be achieved without parental involvement in school. And parental involvement in the student's life itself. Actually it's the parents, students and teachers who make the schools. It's the people who write the success story of any school but the bricks building or excellent infrastructure. They supplement not compliment. Parents are the stakeholders. And all the schools look forward to earn positive and cooperative parents community. Infrastructure

The school has a built-up area of 34 Ropanees. It is a five-storey structure with a canteen, and a playground big enough to play all major sports. It has several science laboratories. There are also computer laboratories.There are conference room that is used for all major events and workshops hosted for the students.

Sports and co-curricular activities

The school's sports teams conducts various sports programs. The school encourages co-curricular activities and holds at least one competition each month.
