DateBid

DateBid is a social gaming and online dating application hosted on Facebook where participants bid for dates with other participants using "DateBid Fun Dollars." As other participants see bids posted they can post a challenging bid. Whoever bids the most wins a five minute date set-up via webcam, but the object is to see who can win the most dates and accumulate the most dollars.

According to AppData.com DateBid currently averages 24,000 ACTIVE users a month.

History

DateBid was launched April 22, 2010 on Facebook and is owned and operated by DateBid Limited, a privately-held company based in the U.K. that develops social networking applications for online platforms and mobile devices. DateBid Limited was founded in 2009.

Philanthropy

DateBid’s platform has been used to raise money for charities. In October 2010, Actress Betsy Russell participated in a date auction that raised $1,900 for Getting Out By Going In (GOGI), a non-profit organization that provides educational materials to incarcerated men, women and children.
