Darth Zannah

Darth Zannah was the first Sith Apprentice in Darth Bane's new order. Recruited by the Jedi because of her high force-sensitivity, she was part of Army of the Light (Republic). Because of her young age (she was recruited when she was only nine), and her extremely rushed training (the Jedi forces were stretched to their limit), her entire unit, including her two cousins who had convinced her to join, were killed in the Ruusan offensive. As the only survivor, she was "adopted" by one of the natives, a telepathic alien named Liah. When Republic soldiers came to rescue her, they killed the alien "out of mercy." Cut off from her last "family," Zannah reacted with the force; and snapped their necks.

Darth Bane, witnessing this rare display of emotion and talent, offered her a chance for revenge; she accepted and became his first apprentice.

Under Bane's tutorage, she became a powerful apprentice. She used a red double-bladed lightsaber, made with a shorter handle than most dual bladed weapons. She was trained in form III, or Soresu, due to her smaller size, Bane felt her main advantage would be to let her opponent make the mistake for her. During her apprenticeship, she aided her master in discovering the then-lost techniques of constructing holocrons. She was exceptionally talented at concealing her force powers, which allowed her to inflitrate the Jedi Temple and look for data for her master.
