Dariusz Jerczyński
Dariusz Jerczyński (born January 26, 1968 in Katowice) is a Silesian politician and historical writer.
Biography
Dariusz Jerczyński has authored books about the history of Silesia, historical articles in the magazines "Czas Górnośląski" and "Jaskółka Śląska" From 2001 to 2007, Jerczyński has also been a member of wide authorities of the Silesian Autonomy Movement. In 2002 and 2006, he was a candidate in the Polish local elections for regional parliament of Silesian Voivodeship , Jerczyński was also a member of the beginning committee of Union People of Silesian Nationality since 2004 and head secretary of the Silesian Separatistic Movement since 2008.
Activity
Since 2001, Jerczyński has published articles in the magazines "Jaskółka Śląska" (magazine Silesian Autonomy Movement) and "Czas Górnośląski". In 2002 and 2006, he was a Silesian Autonomy Movement candidate for the regional parliament of Silesian Voivodeship in Katowice.
On September 15, 2001 Dariusz Jerczyński next to Andrzej Roczniok and Józef Gwóźdź as member of a delegation of the Silesian Autonomy Movement was a guest of five biggest Moravian national minority organizations in the Czech Republic, which on this day in archbishop's castle in Kroměříž founded Union of Moravians to represent all Moravian nation before Czech authorities. Representatives of Moravians and Silesian Autonomy Movement spoke about a council of Moravia and Silesia - future commonwealth of Moravians and Silesians in the united Europe.
On October 2, 2006, Dariusz Jerczyński; next to Andrzej Roczniok and Grzegorz Kozubek, was signed letter Union People of Silesian Nationality for Terry Davies – general secretary Council of Europe in question to ignore of silesian national group by polish authorities. On April 28, 2007 with Roczniok was signed letter to UNESCO in question of versus to forced by polish authorities to change the name of the former concentration camp KL Auschwitz to: ”former german, [...] [...]”. The rational being that name of this camp should mirror this place, like a [...] German concentration and death camps in 1945 and Soviet and Polish concentration camps since 1945 to 1948, when prisoners these camps were Silesian, German and Ukrainian people..
