Dario Bisso
Dario Bisso (born 14 March 1964) is an Italian conductor and guitarist. He studied guitar and Gregorian Chant at the Conservatory Benedetto Marcello of Venice and got a degree in Musicology and MusicAL heritage at the University of Venice "Ca' Foscari".
Career
Bisson was born in Dolo, Venice. In 1986, he was received by the President of the Italian Republic, and was awarded by the Minister of Culture and Arts as the youngest guitarist who obtained a diploma cum laude in an Italian Conservatory in 1985, the European Year of Music.
In 1989 Bisso won international competitions in Rome and Tokyo which represented a turning point in his career. He debuted in 1990 at London's St. John Smith Square concert hall and, in 1992, he performed in Boston, Milan, and Munich. He founded the Camera Arcadia Chamber Orchestra in 1998, and in 1999 he conducted the Orchestra Alessandro Scarlatti at the Court Theatre at the Royal Palace in Naples. After this experience he conducted many other important orchestras such as the Orchestra Accademia Vivaldiana of Venice; the Symphonic Orchestra Città di Adria; the Philharmonic Orchestra "Mihail Jora" of Bacau (Romania) in Giuseppe Verdi's Il trovatore (2006); the Symphonic Orchestra "Il Suono Il Tempo" of Milan; the Symphonic Orchestra Sconfinarte of Milan in Giuseppe Verdi's La traviata (2007); and the Orchestra Filarmonica Italiana in Verdi's Rigoletto (2008). In 1995 he founded the International competition Voci Nuove della lirica "Giovanni Battista Velluti" of which he is also the artistic director. He collaborates with many outstanding composers: Claudio Ambrosini, Sylvano Bussotti, Ennio Morricone and Fabio Vacchi. February 14 2009, Dario Bisso conducted Philharmonische Camerata Berlin (Berliner Philharmoniker strings players) with music by Mozart, Haydn, Tchaikowsky.
In 2007, Bisso received the award Premio Pentagramma in Abano Terme (Padua, Italy) and in 2008 he was awarded with the title "Strapadovan" by the Provincial Administration of Padua for his commitment to the spread of music.
