Danilo Gregovic

Danilo Gregovic (born April, 1956) is a lawyer and member of the Croatian Bar Association from 1992.

He owns a law firm.

Career

Judge (1981 – 1983)

Chief justice (1983 – 1987) at the municipal court, municipality of Pregrada.

District Attorney's Assistant, District of Zagreb (1987 – 1992). After Croatia gained independence from the Socialist Federative Republic of Yugoslavia, Chief executive Secretary to the first Minister of foreign affairs.

Wrote Croatian Penal Law (Informator, 1990), Croatian Criminal Procedure Law (Informator, 1991).

Columnist for the magazine "Globus" ("From justice to injustice", 1990-1992) where he wrote several dissenting articles against some of the actions of President Tudjman. Author of number of articles in "Zakonitost", "Danas" , "Zapad", "Vjesnik" ("The right to die", "The death penalty", "The Medical malpractice"...).

Elected as a President of the committee for liberation of arrested men from Virovitica (1990) 1 who were imprisoned by Yugoslav army on charges of smuggling arms at the break of war in Croatia. The committee initiated massive protests before the headquarters of Yugoslav's Army Military court in Zagreb. In the Coalition government (2000-2004) candidate for the Attorney general.
