Damien Olsen

Born in 1961 as Damian Berdichevsky in BS AS; Moved to Brazil and adopted the artistic alias of Damien Olsen in 1980; while pursued a career as a visual artist also studying music, dance and martial arts. By the middle 80s Damien Olsen was a consummated underground multimedia artist. In 1999 Damien Olsen moved to NY and started a new episode of his life as a Sculptor, Musician and Photographer. Studied composition with Raoul Bjorkenheim who is also his "Guitar Guru"; translating unusual guitar methods and lessons into practical philosophy for the everyday.

Damien Olsen produced a vast body of work of wood and cardboard sculptures, painted books, and self produced a big number of albums of ambient music like Radio Valhalla or Ambient Standards. His music is strongly influenced by the legendary British record label em:t

Olsen's music is identified as Hybrid Ambient, Electronica Post Rave, Avant Garde, Chill Out, Trip Hop, Experimental, or most probably a big BLEND of all this genre. some of Olsen's music projects includes the Brooklyn based group Model Cities, Nattahnam & The Jazz Fakers with David Tamura on Saxophone and The Restrictor with Aaron Little on drums and Adam Dym on clarinet.
