Dal pat
Dal pat (Branch-leaf) is a popular game among children in rural Bihar and Utter Pradesh State of India. It is played in a place surrounded by trees by help of a wooden stick.
Description
It starts with the selection of Chor (Thief), GeneRally done by using a poem. A player starts the poem and says each word of the poem for every player, where the poems ends becomes chor.
Initially, all the players stand on the ground and a stick is thrown by someone in one direction from a predefined line. Chor has to pick up that stick and place at line, during this time other players have to climb on the tree. Now chor has to touch someone by climbing on the tree and then touch the stick to make him chor. If he does it successfully the other player become chor and the previous chor has to throw the stick. If chor is able to touch someone but fails to touch the stick before touching by other player, he again becomes chor.
There are different method of the throwing the stick, each way has a specific name.
