Cy Waits
Cy Waits is an American businessman based in Las Vegas involved in the city's nightlife scene. Waits is managing partner at Tryst nightclub inside Wynn Las Vegas, Drai's After Hours inside Bill's Gamblin' Hall and XS nightclub at Encore resort, which opens in December 2008 in Las Vegas.
Waits, who shares managing partner duties with identical twin brother, Jesse Waits, grew up in both Hawaii and Southern California, but came to Las Vegas shortly after attending college. Waits began his career in the nightclub business with the House of Blues, where he quickly rose to the top as an executive.
After just three years in Las Vegas, the House of Blues corporate office assigned Waits to open locations across the country, including Anaheim, Calif.; Myrtle Beach, S.C.; Chicago and Hollywood, Calif.
In 2001, the MGM Grand recruited Waits to manage Tabu Ultra Lounge, which Waits helped win numerous industry awards.
He later joined his brother and nightlife impresario Victor Drai as the three teamed up to overhaul a location at Wynn Las Vegas once inhabited by an unsuccessful venue — La Bete — and turned the space into one of the most popular and profitable nightclubs in Las Vegas.
Waits also helped open Tryst nightclub at Wynn Macau on December 13, 2006 at the luxurious property in Asia.
Waits, who is also managing partner at Botero Steak at Encore, and his brother have been honored with several awards and were recently named as part of Extra's "America's Most Eligible Bachelors" list.
Next year, Waits, his brother and Drai will open Drai's nightclub at the W Hollywood Hotel on Hollywood and Vine in West Hollywood, California.
