Cranbourne Eagles Cricket Club is a cricket club based in Cranbourne, Victoria, Australia currently playing in Dandenong District Cricket Association in every grade.

History

The club began in 1881 with a meeting held at the Mornington Hotel in High Street,Cranbourne on Saturday 24th of September,1881. The person elected to be the President (of the club) was Mr. A Cameron and the Vice Presidents were Mr. W Lecky and Mr E.Greaves. The Early years proved to be hard for Cranbourne as there was no league to play in and matches were played between local clubs. The club eventually joined the Berwick District Cricket Association. The 1930's was a very successful era for Cranbourne winning 2 premierships in 1935/36 and 1936/37

Changing Associations:

In 1946 Cranbourne left Berwick to join Dandenong District Cricket Association (DDCA), because the players felt that they were traveling to much. The move was proved very hard as Cranbourne had to join the lowest grade and work there way up. They weren't able to recruit enough players and had no choice but disband for a short time.

Starting Again:

In 1954 the club re-formed. Joe Cam donated a full kit and the club is still going today. Ted Allen was appointed as secretary. In 1979 the club installed a turf wicket at the E.G. Allen oval at the Racecourse Reserve with hard work done by Alan Denis and Dave Harrington, together with Rob Black in installing and preparing the wicket and building roller. The club has since moved to Casey Fields. The club has 7 senior teams and 12 junior teams.
