Craig (Friday)

Craig Jones is a fictional character from all three of the Friday movies, where he is the main protagonist. He is created and portrayed by Ice Cube, who is also the screenwriter and producer of the series. Craig and his father William "Willie" Jones (John Witherspoon) are the only characters that have appeared in all three films.

The events of Friday

Before the series began, he had a job but got fired the day before the beginning of the film because "he got caught stealing boxes". He also has a girlfriend who constantly talks to him over the phone. He dumps her at the end of Friday. He is a laid-back kind of guy, and all he wants to do is live life before something happens to him. He sometimes has some arguments with his sister Dana, who is somewhat more ambitious than Craig. He and Smokey try to beat the neighborhood "pest" Lil' Chris, and they finally got him and he (Craig) also made a name for himself when he knocked Deebo out.

Next Friday

Things change after that day. Smokey was in rehab, the Parkers have left, Stanley left the neighborhood too, and Deebo broke out of prison a week (or month) later, causing him to leave as well to his uncle's house. However Deebo was arrested again that friday.

Friday After Next

A week later (or a year later), Craig and Day-Day were robbed by a fake Santa Claus and got jobs as security guards. They deal with Damon, Money Mike, a gang of a religious mother, and Santa Claus later and get their stuff back. In the end Craig gets another girlfriend.

He has a dad who works as a dog catcher (but "Friday After Next" was working at a restaurant) and a mom who loves him, but who also likes to get him into trouble. He also has a "rich" uncle in Rancho Cucamonga, as well as a cousin (Day-Day) who lands on the "list" of people who will likely get shot. But Craig lives each day as any other day (except perhaps Friday).

Family/relationships

Craig comes from the loving and happy, if slightly dysfunctional Jones family in who either help the character in need or discourages him if doesn't take any initiative in his life to find a job to support himself. His father Willie Jones represent both of these qualities as he demands Craig that he should find another job by the end of the day or else he'll kick him out of the house and teaching him to defend for himself by fighting with his fists instead of using a gun to solve his problems (as seen in the first film). This fatherly advice comes in handy when Craig fights the neighborhood bully Deebo and succeeds. He also seems to have a sibling rivalry with his sister Dana, probably because that she is more ambitious than Craig and seems to flaunt this at him.
