County Dublin Beekeepers Association

The County Dublin Beekeepers' Association (CDBKA) represents the beekeepers in the Dublin area of Ireland. Whereas most members live in County Dublin, a number live in other Irish counties but have links to Co. Dublin.

The association is the largest beekeeping association in the Republic of Ireland with well over a hundred members.

The association is affiliated to the Federation of Irish Beekeeping Associations. 1

Activities

The CDBKA runs a number of events each year for members and prospective beekeepers. These events include:
* A beginners' beekeeping course run during evenings, starting in January

  • Study groups for the FIBKA intermediate and senior examinations
  • Beekeeping demonstrations for members during the summer at the association's apiary at the edge of the Dublin Mountains
  • A Honey Show (open to the public) each autumn, normally in Rathgar in November
  • A series of lectures for members during the winter months


A members' newsletter is published and distributed to members approximately four times a year.
