Career
Professional
After graduating from MIT with a Ph.D. in technology management policy, Hallam left his teaching position to work for Northrop Grumman. While employed with the company, he applied his research work to their corporate activities and saw huge improvements over previous implementations. He also worked for one of Northrop Grumman's suppliers and instituted the same research on the Global Hawk unmanned aircraft project.
After working in the private sector for a number of years, Hallam met with Dr. Ricardo Romo over lunch and the idea for CITE (a joint venture between the UTSA colleges of business and engineering) was hatched. His enjoyment with teaching and ability to network with executives helped him decide to move to San Antonio, Texas and begin working for UTSA.

Currently, Hallam works as a professor at UTSA in San Antonio, Texas. His position includes teaching in both the college of business and the college of engineering, along with networking with local and national venture capitalists and business people to enhance student learning. With these contacts, Hallam is helping build UTSA's reputation within the community and assisting in the effort to distinguish the school as one of the premiere institutions in the southwest United States.
