Connect Distribution is the UK's largest distributor of brown and white goods to the independent trade. They are based in Birmingham, West Midlands.
AbOUT the Connect Group
The Connect group specialise in component and accessory distribution for white and brown goods, but also offers a comprehensive range of small and major domestic appliances. In addition to distribution, the group also specialises in managing warranty & insurance repair contracts using independent service providers.
The group consists of the following brands: Connect Distribution, Electrue Sales, Repaircare, HRS Electronics, Willow Vale Electronics and Wellco.
History
Connect Distribution was established in 1969. In 1994, following a number of acquisitions, all companies were consolidated into the Connect Group. Key milestones:
1969 – Electrue Sales Limited established
Electrue Sales specialize in the provision of white goods spares and accessories. It is now established itself as the industry leader within the market sector and offers the widest range of spares available from every established manufacturer.
1979 – Electruepart established
Electruepart has grown to become the number one brand of replacement white goods spares and consumables. Available within the Electruepart range of pattern parts is a wide selection of universal appliance consumables and accessories.
1994 – HRS Electronics Ltd acquired
An already established company with over 46 years, HRS Electronics was acquired from the Ring group to assist Connect with entering into the brown goods spares and accessories market.
2000 – Willowvale Electronic Ltd acquired
Having over 40 years experience in the brown goods sector, Willowvale Electronics Ltd. was added to the group to further strengthening Connects position within the Brown goods spares and accessories market.
2001 – Wellco acquired
Acquired from Pact International Ltd, Wellco possessed over 51 years of experience and the acquisition was designed to strengthen Connects position within the retail accessories and finished goods sectors.
2004 – Repaircare established
Adding an extra dimension to the Connect group, repaircare provides repair service solution for manufacturers, high street retailer or insurance company for guarantee and extended warranty work. In 2009 they moved into the consumer home repair market.
2009 – Connect Solutions established
The solutions arm of the Connect group was added to provide manufacturers and retailers within the white and brown goods product sectors a range of business enhancing services.
Head Office & Distribution Centre
Connect Distribution stocks around 120,000 stock lines and has over 16,000 active customers. It distributes products, spares and accessories for over 100 original equipment manufacturers. This includes well known brands like Hotpoint, Electrolux, Hoover, Dyson, Miele and Samsung.
Connect operates from a 45,000 sq ft Head Office complex and a 200,000 sq ft National Distribution Centre. The group employs over 450 staff and dispatches in the region of 180,000 lines a month.
