Colonial Division (AIHL)
The AIHL's Colonial Division was formed in 2009 as part of the Eastern Conference in a league realignment. All five teams are within 337 miles of each other.

Changes from the 2008–2009 season
- The Colonial Division is formed as a result of AIHL realignment
- The Maryland Knights, Richmond Robins, and Winchester Generals come in from the Southeast Division
- The Pittsburgh Bandits (formerly Steel City Phantoms), and Scottdale Inferno come in from the Mid Atlantic Division
- The Potomac Mavericks were added as an expansion team, joining from the PIHA
