City Cricket Academy (http://www.citycricketacademy.co.uk) in Leicester,UK which started functioning as a modest coaching academy on a shared facilities with an indore football centre at Freeman's Common in 2006 is now a state of the art coaching center with a play area of 7,000 sq. ft. with all modern ameneties. It is the brain child of a young cricketer,#REDIRECT Anshuman Bhagawati. Bhagawati is the yongest player to represent Assam (India)in the Ranji Trophy, captained the Assam team to win the #REDIRECT Vijay Merchant Trophy in 1994-95 for under 16s and bagged 6 wickets for 49 runs against a strong Bengal team in a #REDIRECT Ranji Trophy match in the first innings. His other laurels also include captain of the #REDIRECT CK Naidu Trophy (under 19)for 4 years, skipper of East Zone for one year. He also has 17 wickets to his credit in 3 matches in 1994-95, 25 in five consecutive matches in 1996-97 for Assam in the Cooch Bihar Trophy. He is also the highest wicket taker in India in the Cooch Bihar trophy in the year 1996-97 with 51 wickets in 8 matches. For the past 6 years he has been playing for Syston,UK as all rounder. The Academy is aimed at providing well equipped facilities to meet the challenges of the sport and to provide direction and vision for young and aspiring cricketers.
