CIBP
The International Confederation of Popular Banks (CIBP), founded in 1950 in Paris, is an international, non-governmental organisation recognised by the United Nations, which associates banking and financial institutions and organisations whose aim is to encourage the development of small and medium-sized enterprises and individual customers.
Most of the member institutions of CIBP have a co-operative structure including solidarity and guarantee mechanisms. Their organisation is decentralised and has one or more federal bodies in charge of representation, monitoring and financial support. Their main advantage is their network of regional banks closely involved in local economic life.
Thanks to these often historical roots, member organisations are close to their customers and as such, they are able to provide customised solutions.
At present, CIBP has member organisations in 23 countries: Argentina, Austria, Belgium, CEEC & Malta, Canada, Chile, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Morocco, Poland, Spain and Turkey.
This network of member organisations, with similar customers and common concerns, promotes each other's achievements and encourages exchanges of experiences and partnership agreements.
