Radio career

Turns began her career in radio by trying out for the popular Radio Star contest hosted by Las Vegas' NewsRadio 840 KXNT. Winners of the contest include Casey Hendrickson and Heather Kydd. Turns was announced the winner of Radio Star 4 in October 2008 and made her debut as co-host on the Jodi and Friends show which aired Sundays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. In February, Ciara became the host of "Sundays with Ciara" which airs Sundays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The format of the show is the discussion the weeks news while taking calls from listeners who also want to share their opinion on her topics. Turns spends much of her time on air discussing the Obama Administration and where they are going wrong. Her audience is made up of mostly conservatives, although she does get calls from liberals who disagree with her points. Turns came under attack only two weeks after her show debuted for using the term "B-HO" to refer to President Barack Obama. To explain why she chose that name Turns claimed, "Obama thinks he is JFK, so it's time we start referring to him by his initials. But, BHO just doesn't roll of the tongue like JFK, so if Jennifer Lopez can be J-LO then Obama can be B-HO." Many of her listeners were offended by the name and sent e-mails to KXNT Program Director Jack Landreth asking Turns be fired. Landreth stood by his host and made clear she would not be punished for the term, likening it to the calling of George W. Bush "Dubbya."

Turns has expressed her desire on air to one day be as successful as fellow conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh. Turns' fiery, argumentative and sarcastic personality is what she hopes will carry her to the big time. She also claims to be a fan of Ann Coulter stating, "I hope to be the Ann Coulter of radio."
