Christopher Whiteoak
Christopher John Whiteoak (born 15 June 1982) is an English Chemist.
Early Life
Christoper John Whiteoak is the eldest of three brothers born in Bradford, Yorkshire.
Chemistry Career
He obtained his MChem degree at the University of York in 2004. As part of his degree he spent a year working for Unilever, where he returned as a research scientist after the completion of his undergraduate degree. Whilst at Unilver he made several contributions to the fields of bleach cataysis and paper pulp bleaching.
In 2006 he returned to academia to pursue a doctorate at Imperial College London under the direction of Professor Vernon C. Gibson and Dr George Britovsek. His thesis describes the synthesis of a diverse range of metal complexes stabilised by tetradentatate ligands and their application in oxidation catalysis. His work has been published in peer reviewed journals.
Dr. Whiteoak has collaborated with a number of internationally acclaimed scientists including Professor Vernon C. Gibson and Christophe Boisson. He is now collaborating with Dr. Christophe Boisson at CPE Lyon completing research in the field of polymerization catalysis.
