Christmas Now & Then
Christmas Now & Then is an annual Christmas production performed at two different Assembly of God churches in Lawrenceburg, TN and in Decatur, AL. Originally the production was only held at Calvary Assembly in Decatur, but for the 2009 Christmas season, First Assembly of God in Lawrenceburg picked up on the production. Both churches use some of the same material and also use some original material.
Production
The production revolves around "the Christmas story" with a new twist each year. In 2008, Decatur's production revolved around a spy whose mission is to find the real story of baby Jesus, and in 2009, Lawrenceburg's production will be AbOUT three children, Doug, Sissy, and Brianna finding pieces for a homemade manger scene as the main play part of the production with numerous dance scenes and live music. Both churches productions usually consist of major dance numbers, interaction with the crowd, and real live animals. Every one of Decatur's "Christmas Now & Then" productions have received extremely high reviews. All performances are free, but require a ticket to watch the show in both churches. Tickets usually can be received at the church of performance or around the community.
