She has written over 250 articles for many publications including the Queen's Quarterly, the Kingston Whig-Standard, Fifty-five Plus magazine, Profile Kingston magazine, Complete Health Magazine, and Canadian forum.
In 1994, she graduated from Queen's University with a PhD in English . She regularly teaches literature courses at both Queen's University and the Royal Military College of Canada.
