Chris Butter

Chris Butter is an United States guitarist who was born and raised in West Jordan, Utah.

He is a highly respected modern guitarist compared with other guitar players such as Randy Rhoads, Steve Vai, Eric Johnson, Eddie Van Halen, Joe Satriani, John Petrucci, and Yngwie J. Malmsteen.

Butter came to fame in the 1990s through his work as the lead guitarist in the band Dig This. Later he played lead guitar for a hip hop / rock band called Hi Def.

Guitarist Butter says that he defines the group's sound with his knowledge of jazz, his love of funk, 60's guitar rock and a desire to be an artist above all else. Butter takes an abstract approach finding his role to be the most challenging in this unique group of musicians. His playing provides sonic glue that helps everything else make sense.

Butter currently resides in Los Angeles with his wife and step son where he continues to record.
