Chant (Band)

Chant is Bradley Ross Bills (Born August 16, 1972) is an American drummer, writer, visual artist, and live music performer. He is the creator of the tribal drumming industrial rock MusicAL project CHANT and has performed drums or contributed programming for various punk rock and industrial projects such as SubNatural, Limiter, and Brewtality INC. - including co-writing a track titled 'Dulcimer' for the industrial supergroup Pigface, with Martin Atkins (PiL/Ministry/Pigface) and Martin Bowes (Attrition).

In 2010, Bills has focused much of his efforts on music production and is currently recording CHANT's 2nd release. Originally intended to be a multi-drummer based band that would mix the chaos of experimental, underground projects like Crash Worship and The Creatures with the influences of electronic industrial music, Bills grew tired of the lack of direction the project took on with multiple guest drummers and decided to launch CHANT as a solo act. Bills remains the sole writer, producer, art director, and performer for all live shows.

CHANT has released an experimental CD/DVD combo produced by The Butthole Surfers Jeffery D. Pinkus and a debut album, That Which Divides, recorded by Martin Atkins And Co-produced by ex-Skrew/Skatenigs drummer Mark Dufour.

CHANT has garnered much attention in the underground music scene, leading to a co-written song for industrial supergroup Pigface's record '6', landing slots on the side stages of the Voodoo Music Festival in New Orleans, being invited to contribute drum programming for the online video game Tabula Rasa composed by Curse Mackey, and being asked to lecture on the subject of making headway in the music industry as an independent, underground artist by the Austin Music Foundation and ATXU Underground communities.
